As an outsider, I can say that this team looks much stronger than the VT

team a year ago, even with a lot of returning players. The power immediately jumps out at you: 5 guys with 10+ HRs. Cross is also holding his own -- he basically dropped off the face of the Earth starting in late April last year, after hitting well over .400 for the first 2 months of the season. This year, he's steady and doing nothing to diminish his likely status as a top 10 draft pick.

And Hackenberg is the biggest game-changer, not only at Tech, but possibly the whole ACC. Probably the best ACC freshman pitcher. Will be interesting to see him pitch in Charlottesville with all of the Miller School people in attendance.

From the outside, it has looked like, since getting swept by GT, y'all have buckled down and gotten it done. Friday and Saturday starters and top 3 relievers are top-notch; good power, hitting for average, and speed; and good defense (.981 fpct).

As a Hoo, I don't root for the Hokies (at least not during the season - I root for your players in summer ball), but I think this will be a great series.
