Men's club lacrosse ends regular season ranked #1.

Next up: Atlantic Lacrosse Conference Tournament at City Stadium in Lynchburg VA

Both Tech (12-1, 4-0) and Liberty (10-3, 4-0) have 1st round byes.

The opening round will be played this weekend JMU (7-2, 3-1) and Pitt (8-5, 2-2) will play to see gets the Hokies in the next round. Tech defeated Pitt 16-9 back on Feb 27. JMU was not on the schedule this year
And the winner of Clemson (11-3, 3-1) and NCSt (7-6, 1-2) will play Liberty.

The rest of the tournament will be played next weekend with the 2nd round on April 30th and the championship game on May 1st.

ALC teams in the most recent poll: #1 VT, #4 Liberty, #8 Clemson, and also receiving votes are NCSt (would be 26) and JMU (would be 27)

Winning the ALC tournament will guarantee a bid to the MCLA National Championship in May. It is a 16 team tournament with slots going to the 9 conference champions and 7 open bids. So Tech can still go without winning the conference title, but winning will help in seeding.

This year the MCLA national championship will be held in Round Rock, Tx May 9-14.

Finally, since this is a club sport, the guys all pay their own way including equipment and travel expenses. If you would like to help the team get to nationals I've added a link. Every little bit help these true amateurs represent Virginia Tech
