This is one of the main reasons I want nothing to do with "smart home" tech


I already got burned by a similar situation when the Lowe's brand smart hub went under a few years ago. At least Lowe's offered everyone store credit for the value of the devices they owned. Then there's the Halo smart smoke/CO alarm that I bought and had paired with the Lowe's hub...Halo went under too and no longer maintains the firmware for their devices.
