lately, but it just seems like we're not giving as many free passes (which are my biggest pet peeve, and mental errors) as we were giving earlier in the season. That can't hurt and can only help matters. Statistics show that if you just throw a strike and the batter makes contact the odds are you'll get an out about 7 out of 10 times. Those same statistics show that if you throw 4 balls before 3 strikes to a batter the odds of making an out while that batter is at the plate are 0 out of 10.
