I am normally not big on rankings per se, more about RPI and potential positioning for a tournament seed, and have no idea about how the finish may go this year for us, but my gracious that is quite an oversight. Almost think we have gotten lost in their shuffle by accident. To have Rutgers as the number 8 team is beyond laughable. I get that they have won 15 in a row, but I just looked at their "numbers" on the year. While they are 30-6, they have a SOS of 189. Of their 30 wins, 29 of those are against Quads 3 and 4 (18 of which are against Quad 4). They have only played two games against the Top 100, and are 1-1 (their one quad 1 win is against Penn and hard to see an Ivy League school finishing in the Top 50). While they may be good, they have literally played nobody so no one knows, and the Big Ten is absolutely horrible this year (normally not this bad at least). They will play Maryland who is the only other Big Ten team worth much this year. But, there schedule is not worthy of any sort of ranking like that. Same with UConn at 14.....their SOS is 245 and 24 of their 28 wins against quads 3 and 4. Oh well, don't want to look at all those squads, but those two really stuck out to me.

Just for comparison sake, VT has the 5th most quad 1 wins in the country (tied for 5th). Only four programs have more than us. We have 10 quad 1 wins (hope Carolina can win some more to stay in the Top 50 RPI-but ECU is playing well and right at 54), and our SOS is 44th. We are 11-8 against Quads 1-2. So many other numbers to consider when ranking people, but you know that well anyways....Crazy how varied the baseball polls can be, but this one takes the cake this week...Almost wish you hadn't mentioned that, as those things rarely ever bother me :-):-).....
