15% ethanol gasoline to be available this summer to make gas 'cheaper'.
I've kept records on my vehicle gasoline cost and mileage for years. When 10% ethanol gasoline became the norm my MPG dropped by nearly 10%. Now 15% . . . go figure. Ethanol blend gas costs less but MPG drops too, so are you really paying less. Not great on the engine either. Also, the ethanol evaporates faster from your tank than regular gasoline. Regular gasoline has a shelf life of three to six months, while organic-based ethanol can lose its combustibility in just one to three months due to oxidation and evaporation. I'll opt out.
