This is the time of year for the end of season talks...

Some moves will be initiated by the staff. Some moves will be initiated by the athlete.

I dont think its a coincidence a post player transferred the same week VT hosts its top transfer target at the 4/5 spot.

Naheim, more than anyone, benefits from a change of scenery and a reset. There was a lot of undue pressure on him during his struggles this season. Part of it his own doing, part of it a mis-managing of the roster needs in the offseason. Regardless of who is to blame, it was probably untenable that he stays at VT.

Unfortunately for big John, injuries and COVID-19 kept him from scratching his potential. He can still turn it around in 2 years, but he will need to be somewhere he can play through his mistakes. That simply cant be at VT with the roster needs VT has for next season. An unfortunate circumstance, but one that helps the overall roster become deeper and more talented.

Unsure of the direction VT will go with Alleyne's scholarship, but Ojiako's will go to a transfer portal big.

My ideal roster for next season...

PG - Pedulla, Rice
Wing - Cattoor, Maddox, Collins, transfer
4 - Carter, DNG, Buchanan
5 - Basile, Kidd, Wessler

That leaves 1 scholarship for either Mutts or Aluma and if both come back you have a frank discussion with DNG

Im not sold on Ward as a wing at VT. I think he fits better as a 4 in the short term, with a move to the wing possible down the road. That doesnt really fit with VTs needs at the moment as there are much better options available at the 4, and a wing defender is needed now.

I dont see Ward at VT
