Last season Oklahoma lost to #21 Georgia (ranked lower than UCF). OK won the national title

In 2019, UCLA lost to #23 Northwestern (ranked lower than UCF). UCLA won the national title.

In 2018, FSU lost to UNRANKED McNeese, South Alabama, Hofstra, Pittsburgh, and Boston College and won the National Title.

This VT team may not win the National Title, but certainly last night doesn't disqualify them from being a "great team."
