Our previous dog was a lab/boxer mix. She was such a sweet girl.
She was a pretty similar mix of black and white (pictured below).
No experience here with owning two dogs at the same time. We tried adopting a 6-week old puppy back in the fall, and it was a mistake. We ended up having to take it back to the shelter after a week...it was a tough decision, but was the correct one for both the dog and for us. With no one home during the daytime, it just wasn't fair to the dog. I had tried to convince the rest of the family of that beforehand, but sometimes lessons can only be learned from experience. It sounds like we are going to try again this week...supposed to pick up a ~2 year old lab/hound mix on Wednesday. Supposedly the dog is already house trained, so we'll see how it goes.
Best of luck with your new family member...as others have said, training the pup may be easier with Charley there to "set an example."
