Dealing with this myself. Have a 9 year old dog and a 3 month old.

Asking myself why.

Having a puppy is like having a baby.

One thing I’m trying is disciplining the puppy the same way the older one does. The big dog plays with the puppy but when the puppy gets out of line, she lets him know it

Trainers say rely on positive reinforcement only, but I wonder if that’s right. When he bites us, the discipline is swift and unpleasant for a second or two, just like what the big dog does. And when he does something good like poop or pee outside, he gets positive reinforcement which consists or praise and a snack.

It’s a slow process. Best of luck. I do think having a big dog to show your puppy the way will be helpful.
