GOT peeps: ...totally finished book no.2 and (SPOILs)... well, I gotta say
the book smoked the series final two h.b.o. telly eps; nearly entirely.
The battle for Kings Landing was vastly bookishly more entertaining.
Cunning. Daring. Tilted back-n-forth with neither side finding a kayo blow.
And the imp/dwarf is vastly taller in book. Seeing him really fight and do surprisingly
well could have only helped the T.V. series. Not just a pretty brain in the novels, is he?
Winterfall was likewise more curious in-book... who are these froggy peeps?
They are so much deeper/richer in-book. Far mo' mystical as well.
they only add to everything more enchanted the further
north you go.
The Wall/Jon was good/better here... tho' it did not book-gain as much as the rest.
More character sprawl-- which did help. Kinda felt like they needed
a couple more chapters and something mo' ancient happens or
really jumped up.
Sansa and the Hound's ticklish misgivings/interactions are book better as well.
=====================================================================
Kinda had me wondering if H.b.o. lacked budgeting and had to cut book corners
on battles and major sprawling scenes?
Martin's writing improved quite a bit from book no.1 too.
Much sharper turn of phrase and descriptions.
Impressive penmanship betterment here.
-------------------------------------------------------
1st book was worthwhile, added depth-- to be sure.
Tho' the 2nd book was downright gratifying. Much mo' texture here.
...on to the 3rd...
