@VTChip and myself have discussed this many times, including here
on this board. Other programs approached Chip about how he does what he does, and they were admonished by the Hokie Club. Their response was, "This is our bailiwick!" The Hokie Club would rather programs struggle to get additional funding than encourage people like Chip from doing what he does.
Also, because of my (and others') suspicions of the HC and budgeting, money isn't given to the HC until after softball gets its budget, thus ensuring donations via Chip are additional funding, not included in the budget and money budgeted elsewhere. Both Chip, and SERTC, have taught the HC a few tricks.
