Putin may go for more past the Ukr, but no one will invest resources to rebuild the country to a point where it is a stable nation again, in the next 50 years. No western energy company will invest extraction infrastructure again.

The Russians did this to Georgia on their way out the door in the 90s- to a limited degree. Georgia is still a sh*thole, with thousands of greenhouses that were previously feeding the Soviet Union. Every window broken, skeletons of buildings as far as the eye can see. Factories blown up and left to rot. They won.
