It also had a lot to do with the style of play the officials allowed


As a comparison, look at the 1st Pitt game that we had to hold on to win. Jumped out early, the constant beating and banging took their toll and we had to hang on to win. It also allowed Pitt to get easier shots on offense because our players were slowed by the style.

Officials called the game closer in the second game, our defenders had energy, they couldn't beat on us all night and we ran away and won by a ton.

If the officials called TX for the constant banging, they would have had to back off (not to mention the two that should have been on TX that sent Aluma to the bench in the 1st and took him out of his game in the 2nd). Totally different game if the style of officiating changes.
