fairway waiting to hit and the subject of great golf courses came up. I brought up Shinnecock and one of the guys had also played it. He said it as a "good" course, not a "great" course. I laughed at him for sure. But to answer your question, I've played a number of Fazio courses. They are better than most, very enjoyable to play. But I'm not sure I have an appreciation of golf architecture enough to comment on the excellence of his work. Our course is nice, I enjoy it, but it's nothing to write home about. As for the houses, the course is in a gated community, so there's no getting around that. I much prefer courses where there are no houses but those are few and far between. The two seem to go together more than not.
