.... I am recalling correctly. So I know that you know precisely what good golf architecture IS, and what it isn't. I'm interested to know what you think of Tom Fazio's work in comparison with other works you've experienced.

Fazio makes pretty things, sure enough.... but..... there's a difference between prettiness and excellence.

And I notice from Google Earth that Piedmont Club is a housing development club, sometimes with residences on both sides of the fairways. Now I have never played there, so I'm in no position to judge the visuals or the impact of homes on the architecture. But the aerial worries me from a design perspective.

All that said, it may be that Piedmont Club has members that make it a really cool scene, and that can override all the design stuff.
