Couple things. "Totaled" by statute in many states is a repair %75 or more


of a car's value. Also, if they want to "total" the car and not take it, then they can deduct what you keep, meaning the "salvage" value of the car. If you want the full value of the car, you need to surrender it to them. I hope MO requires towing companies to be insured. I don't know if such info as to who insures the company would be public knowledge but you can start demanding to know their insurer or tell them you're going to have a police report filed.
