Here are some interesting VT softball pitching history. Enjoy
Keely Rochard will move into 2nd place in career strikeouts at VT, maybe this weekend, behind the great Angela Tincher.
2,149 Tincher (4 years 2005-2008, avg 537 SO's/year)
926 Dobbe (4 years 1999-2002, avg 231 SO's/year)
906 Rochard (5 years 2018-2022, avg 226 SO's/year)
I don't think any pitcher at VT will ever break Tinch's record in 4-year period. She had unbelievable, eyepopping avg 537 SO's per year. She is still ranked #3 NCAA all-time SO record, only behind olympians Monica Abbott (TN) and Cat Osterman (TX). These were the only 3 pitchers in NCAA history who have passed 2,000 career strikeouts. No one comes close.
Tinch put VT softball on the map, much like Vick did in football. Tinch, Rochard and Dobbe should be in VT's Softball Hall of Fame. Softball field should have banners of Tinch and Dobbe at the outfield walls this year, then add Rochard next year.
