They have a lot of bigger wins over higher level teams earlier in the year

We have a win on the road over Miami and home against ND. 2nd and 4th place teams in the ACC. Usually those teams are seeded around 2nd/3rd (ND) and 6th/7th (Miami) in the NCAA tournament. This year, they are double digit seeds.

We just don't have any big wins. That Xavier loss is huge. The stinker against Memphis is huge. The choke against Miami at home is huge. The Dayton road loss is huge.

VT just lacks quality wins. That said, getting to 20-12 after being at 10-10 is awesome. Winning games is nice and we are still alive.
