In that case, I might plant a couple more in that area this fall.


I've been trying different plants that are supposed to like acidic soil. I wanted something other than azaleas, since I already have about a dozen around the house. I tried Mexican Bush Sage and Solomon's Seal, but they are barely holding on. Heck, I even tried planting liriope (monkey grass) which thrives everywhere, but one clump died and the other two are barely surviving.

I gave up and put in the Encore azaleas last fall.

The pictures show what the above plants are supposed to look like, if they are thriving...lol I don't have the variegated liriope pictured, but I like that look better.
