Here's where I agree and disagree with you

I agree with NATO beefing up forces to prevent Russian attacks on NATO countries. That's a smart thing to do. Putin does only respond to force. I agree with that. What I am arguing is.....the economic and worldwide social stuff AFTER the fact, after the invasion that is absolutely scary, critically dangerous.

My wife is Russian. Here's the thought process by the Russian People. Russia socially has gone way to the right. It's limited LGBTQ rights, it's prevented the migrants from the Middle East and Africa to alter it's largely white culture. Russia is the fastest growing Christian Country in the World as Russian Orthodox is booming. Lastly, Russia has gone incredibly nationalistic and non-globalistic. All of these things have happened in Russian in the last 20 years and I am NOT arguing right or wrong for or against the policies, but this is the direction of the country. All of the above stands exactly opposite of where Europe and the West has gone, and they argue there is an absolute hatred there because of their social and nationalistic values.

Now, what I am getting at is this. You are seeing economic sanctions (which I agree with). We are seeing beefing up of NATO (which I agree with). What I don't agree with. Economic sanctions so critical that the common Russian can't use their ATM card. I feel there is a massive move among the far left to see this as a time to stick it to Russia. Yes, they are using the guize of the War, but it's far more than that. They absolutely hate Russian internally, long before 2014 and Crimea. The far left is finding is fashionable and cool to "seize yachts," not let them compete in the special olympics, not let planes lands from Russia anywhere in Europe and the US. They are absolutely playing with fire. This is my worry. The hatred is blinding the danger Russia and Putin proposes. You and I have both met Russians I'm sure. I've met many. You and I both know they aren't wired the way most people are. There is no quit in them.

Lets say the War in Ukraine ends and they go back to Russia. There is ZERO chances they are simply going to "accept or suck it up" and go on about life when they are starving to death, can't fly outside of the country, can't withdrawal money from an ATM machine. They simply will not accept that, and this is playing with fire regarding the danger of nuclear war, and the West, not all, but many are seizing this opportunity to pile on (again, piling on is rightfully so) but within limits. When you leave the enemy with no way out, no hope, no choice, that enemy happens to be one with nuclear weapons and it's an enemy with the mindset of a group of people that are not wired like you and me. Ever watch UFC? They are not simply going to just quit and suck up the consequences if the consequences are forseen as simply not overcomeable.

This is my worry about going to far. Punishment? Yes. Severe? Yes. But no way out for the future (which is what the far left wants)? It's going to get us annihilated and everyone else in the world if not careful.
