Yeah that's the other factor ....


...and I have suggested the same thing to other peeps but I also have to admit there is precedent for battles over a third countries between nuclear powers. Vietnam and Korea come to mind, another in eastern Europe also but I'm too tired to look it up. China kept North Korea in the war and obviously supported North Vietnam, but in neither conflict were US pilots fighting Russian or Chinese pilots, or so history would suggest, but I'd wager otherwise but I don't know. As long as the fight is over a third country I cannot fathom a scenario that leads to a nuclear exchange. It's totally different than the US invading Russia or visa versa, right?
