the committee has as much of an agenda picking the last 4 teams of a 68 team field as they do crafting a narrative that supports their overall selection and seeding process. If you look at many prior years various criteria has been emphasized/deemphasized from one year to the next in the context of explaining selections and seeding. I get that over time criteria may change and some of that is natural with changes of committee chairs and members, however, it would seem, at least to me, there would be a higher degree of consistency.
