Recruiting

Good summation. A lot of programs esp. softball, never get better. Coaches for these teams are poor recruiters, mostly because their college spring climates are too cold and, or there is no successful 'softball history' there. Thusly, these teams have no depth, a lot of players there are used to holding on to their positions year after year, nobody ever 'presses' them, nobody better has been recruited, coaches are hesitant to do so even if they could. That is their team culture for the most part. The outcome is, those programs never improve. Elite pitchers rarely gravitate to these programs. Now Tech doesn't have an optimal climate either, but what they do have is a successful recruiter known nationally. Establishing a program here didn't take long because of that. Players here know the 'score'. Everyone saw how great you were in HS. Are you 'ready' on day one? Few are. If you were great last year, keep it up or.... Program seems to be run like a pro franchise, you'll get your opportunities, everything is charted. Good chance all recruits know this coming in. Transfers will happen, like everywhere else. The benefits of this system: A top 10 program. The downside: not everyone will be happy with their playing time, or lack of. 29 players since late August, 29 players still here. We need each and every one of them to get to the WCWS.
