Well more open jobs than people is a bad sign...
That means either those jobs don't pay enough for the demanding outcomes they require or the culture is bad.
I work in the nonprofit space and we haven't lost a single employee in the last six months. We're also slowly expanding our team thanks to better than expected revenue over the last 14 months. We don't currently have any jobs open that aren't brand new roles that we've created.
We've been fortunate to have great leadership through the pandemic and it's kept most of us glued to our organization for that reason. When I look at other organizations who are struggling to stay fully staffed, it throws up a major red flag that something is amiss.
Again, playing devil's advocate but always good to look at things from all angles before making a decision. That's what good leadership requires.
