How the heck did Charlie Moir make it work at VT?
Just seeing and reading about the history of the ACC Tournament, and the general powerhouse nature of the ACC back in the 70s and 80s. Then you throw in the rise of the Big East in the 80s with not only Maryland, UVA, UNC, NC State, and Duke dominating recruiting in the region, but now you have Georgetown to contend with. With all of those giants right out the back door, and VT wallowing around in the Metro Conference (i.e. no exposure), how in the world did Charlie Moir not only survive as VT's coach back then, but actually put some great teams on the floor and succeed? Dell and the Youngs weren't the only reasons, right? What was his secret sauce?
