Somewhat unique


Minor upsets are certainly not unique. If #11 Auburn beat #8 VT by a FG in football in Atlanta, hokiepro wouldn't be saying we were vastly overrated. Similarly, in basketball, #11 beating #8 would pretty much be a non-event.

The surprise pin is a bit like a football pick 6...kinda flukey...and in either sport could actually be a 9-point swing. One team doesn't get the FG and gives up 6. Or if the pin is like Lautt's last night, that's 3 NCSU expected replaced by 6 UNC got. Of course, in a top wrestling match, there's likely only 35-ish points max to be scored. Obviously many football games surpass that...often by a lot. Between JYD getting stuck and Traxler losing, we had a 9 point swing last night...arguably based on just 2 individual opponent moves.

Definitely uniqueness in the rankings: individual/dual/tournament. And NCAA tournament scoring is really top-heavy. 3 holes in the lineup can really hurt in a dual, but if you have 6 really strong guys at NCAA's, the other 4 almost don't matter.
