That's not the ACC's contract. It's Raycom's.
Raycom bought the rights from ESPN. ESPN would have to sell games to CBS, and the ACC would not be involved. It's sort of like subleases.
The ACC contract is exclusively with ESPN. The way that the ACC gets more money is growing the footprint for higher subscriber rates for the ACC Network. That means members from new states, preferably with larger population. And by adding 2 members opening up the ESPN deal for higher tier 1 value with ESPN. People keep talking about adding Notre Dame, but that's not like adding a new member with 10 games. It's adding literally only 1.5 games. [Post edited by HOO86 at 02/17/2022 10:19AM]
