Is there another strength beyond metrics in VT's resume?

Thinking back to a "typical" discussion, even factoring in metrics and quad wins/losses, the resume is as stands:

Best wins: Notre Dame, St. Bonnies?, Uva?
Bad losses: NC State, BC, Uva?

Record Against Ranked: 0-3 (Memphis, Xavier, and Duke)
Record Against Tourney and Bubble as of Today: 2-7 (wins against ND(T) and UVA(B), losses to Duke(T), Wake(T), Miami(T), UNC(T), UVA(B), Memphis(B) and, Xav(B))

I think realistically for Tech to have any shot to dance, have to go 5-0 and make a dent in ACC Tourney. Yes NET is strong at 33-37 (depending on tonight's impact) but thats bc Tech destroyed the teams you're supposed to destroy (Navy, Radford, St. Francis, Cornell, ETC) and good games against middling teams (Syracuse and Florida State).

I want Tech in tourney, good for state and both programs (uva and tech) but this seems like a huge uphill battle - what say you?
