Yes, so many have no idea of the culture of the ACC


I remember, in high school basketball game, hearing on the radio, the ACC between maryland and UNC, when there was no time clock and the score at the half was 14-13. It was mind game between Lefty and Dean Smith. Also so many folks trying to get ACC tickets. Remember, the NCAA was only 16 teams. Only conference winners got in, and schools who were independents were selected. ACC was the only conference that had a tourney to select who goes to the NCAA. ALot of amazing teams, got eliminated from the NCAA due to the ACC tourney. You talk about pressure.

Also no ESPN, it was Jefferson Pilot (frankly ACC was the lead at the time with TV before anyone else). The announcers Billy Packer and Thacker and the commentary of Bones McKinney.

Most folks now were born in the seventies and never appreciated it.
