In ACC games through the first eight where VT was 2-6 the offense only scored over 70 points once in a 79-73 victory over Notre Dame. In the last 4 ACC games where VT is 3-1 and except for a half court heave, could be 4-0 Vt has scored 75, 85, 81 and 76. Where has this additional scoring come from? Bench scoring has been much more consistent. In the first 8 ACC games the offensive output from the bench only scored over 8 points once in a victory over the Wolfpack where the bench chipped in 17. The other victory was over Notre Dame where the bench only scored 2 but Notre Dame only relies on basically five players. In the last 4 ACC games the bench scoring has been 23 vs Miami, 32 vs Florida St., 16 vs GT, and 17 vs Pitt. As many of you have pointed out the ball handling has been sloppy during certain stretches but going down the stretch this bench scoring needs to continue for the victories to keep piling up. Sean Pedulla, Darius Maddox and David N'Guessan have all contributed which is a good thing because we will need them in future years. [Post edited by Jomonelson at 02/06/2022 3:06PM]
