They didn't withhold. No idea why. Guess because of the way


she filled out the W9, and/or the policy of the restaurant. Her mom helped her fill out the W9. That's why I manage the money in my household.

She changed jobs too - but both waitress jobs. But my son worked for the same company (restaurant) last year and they didn't withhold for him either. I think they don't have to if you are projected to make under a certain amount, as they will then have to pay taxes on top of that. I'm no CPA, obviously, but that is what I think is true...

So yeah, IF they withheld, she would probably get something...I guess I omitted that key ingredient :) Was more thinking about dependency status, which was the OPs original subject.
