This one is probably obvious, but I haven’t seen it mentioned. They had some really tall players trying to keep up with us on the perimeter. Resulted in a lot of pretty good looks. We don’t get those if they have a full squad, or against most teams that we play.

Those early good looks led to our guys having lots of confidence, and eventually being in that zone where you just don’t think you can miss. In other words you don’t want good shooters to make a couple and get it going.

Most games you see a guy get in a zone like that and shoot the lights out. Pretty rare to see two guys as hot as Pedulla and Cattoor in the same game.

There are studies that debunked the idea of “in the zone.” But I think they fail to take into account that players start taking increasingly difficult shots as the defense reacts and their confidence rises. I thought Pedulla’s last attempt in the first half was a crazy shot under normal circumstances, and it was the first one he missed.

Pretty rare to see guys shoot that well on the road.

I doubt we can count on this to continue into any of the next games. Sure hope I’m wrong!
