Where i grew up, the snowplows had "wings" on the plow to pile it


High and push back top section. Plus road construction equipment. And sand, lots of it.

We would rarely have a snow day, unless the roads got drifted over and couldnt push a plow thru the drift. So, we snowmobiled down the "hill" to where provisions could be found.
