That's a good strategy
when you have guards who are very athletic and can burn you off the pick and roll without a hard hedge. I'd argue that drop coverage is more appropriate in certain situations but the MY defense seems set on hard hedging the bigs. This also leaves the defense weak if the weakside defenders don't rotate to "tag" the rolling big men, as we saw last game happen a few times with Alleyne specially. I saw Aluma be frustrated with this, as it makes the big look bad when the rest of the D
