I know Coach Young mentioned prior to the season that this was his best

team so far and how confident he was in their ability to score from all five positions. I believe he even said scoring was not going to be a problem and/or he wasnt worried about the offense.

Given we are trending towards a 500 record, or somewhere in that range, is this year's W/L record our likely ceiling (500-ish) in the future, given the level of competition going from the SoCon to ACC is much higher? This team is very familiar with MY's system and most have been with him quite some time. We are losing some key players next year. I would expect coming in under 500 is likely, given how inexperienced we will be; we are losing a lot of scoring as well.

Young was a career 500 coach at Wofford and came in well under 500 four of those seasons. Recruiting wasnt a strong suit at Wofford and hasnt been so far here (this makes sense; I dont think anyone expected it be given his history). I'm assuming our typical formula will be for guys to marinate in the system for a few years and rely on stability and development where junior and senior laden teams like this one produce our best results as far as winning %. Our record was well above 500 last year and we certainly surprised many of the prognosticators-not sure if that was part of the impact of Covid, an anomaly, or just the stars aligning?

I was hoping we would have seen a bigger splash with the Jones hire, in terms of recruiting. I know he secured Rice, but really thought we would have seen some larger profile guys join the class (in addition to Rice). I'm hoping we can identify future guys who arent tempted by the portal and are willing to learn the system and stick it out for several years so that his teams can reach their potential.
