but it makes perfect sense to me. If you are in an agreement with someone and they change the rules mid-stream but don't compensate you for the rule change, why would I ever trust them enough to give them thousands of dollars a year?
I've been a long time follower of this board. Though I rarely post, I do usually check in every day to read the latest on the wrestling team. I will continue to do that. Some of you have been on for years as well, some of you are relatively new. None of the comments on this thread surprise me. Most of the people on this board are thoughtful and while we may disagree, they articulate the point and the banter is civil. Others are jack wagons. The comments below demonstrate my point beautifully. When I see posts from certain usernames I've learned to save time and skip over them.
I will continue to support VT wrestling as always. Once this arbitrary rule is lifted I will head back into the Cassell (as we did last Sunday for 4 1/2 hours - miraculously I didn't die!) and support our team. In the meantime, I have to drive to far away venues without arbitrary rules to support our wresters and coaches.
VT Athletics will never get another dime from me because they changed the rules post agreement and refuse to compensate me for the breach. I know they say they reserve the right to change the rules, but requiring me to undergo a medical procedure to enter the facility is a lot different than telling me I can't bring my purse into the venue. My presence is being barred unless I comply, not an accoutrement.
However, in my case SERTC will certainly benefit from this mandate and I would encourage all of you to consider the same.
I'll see you all back at wrestling events when the sudden fear of killing yourself and all those around you by packing 750 fans into a venue with 9,500 seats subsides.
