What percentage of Americans have 2 co-morbidities?
49% of Americans have hypertension
42% of Americans are obese
33% of Americans have diabetes
15% of Americans have chronic kidney disease
(note: some of these numbers may have been % of adults, I don't have a ton of time to waste on this)
Cardiovascular disease? Liver disease? Chronic respiratory disease? Immune related disease? Etc.
Point is, that isn't a small set of people at greatly increased risk. Further, that isn't big news because it's been known for a long time. The big news has been when healthy people die.
