That goes back to the teams Frank built. He thought the only way to....


...compete with Miami was to increase our team speed. Basically Frank made the decision to play guys in the positions they were fast enough to play, which in our case involved smaller guys at positions in a lot of cases.

We had Hokie fans who didn't understand, and criticized this for years, even decades afterwards.
