Really now is the time to floor the accelerator on the program
Lots of upheaval in the division as you noted. Specific attention to Miami, who finally realized that winning costs money, but is a program with a very high ceiling, more than UVA or UNC. And over on the other side, while Clemson is still on top, this season their footing faltered from what was previously a virtually unassailable position from anyone else in the conference.
Virginia Tech ought to spare no expense--run the program into the red if they have to--so they can get their program "online" faster than Miami. They may not succeed since there's probably more talent available on Miami's depth chart at the moment, but they have to make sure they're in a position to compete with Miami, and end up no worse than 2nd in the division behind them.
