The transition of VT football feels like:
(a) Frank had the "family" program. We had a lot of stability in the program because Frank didn't do a lot of firing during his tenure. He had a lot of very loyal coaches. On the down side, he kept several underperforming coaches on staff way too long.
(b) Fu had a...who knows? Maybe best described as the "dysfunctional" era of VT football? Couldn't coach. Couldn't recruit. Couldn't connect with the fan base.
(c) Coach Pry seems to have moved us into the "professional" era of VT football. Every hire feels like a smart and focused choice. The ultimate measure of a program is in the W/L column, so we'll see over the next several years, but I'm highly optimistic. It feels like he's putting a lot of force on the rudder to turn the ship back in the right direction.
