Nice appeal to authority there.
Her writing was not good. Maybe read some truly gifted writers for a comparison.
If you appreciate Rand’s prescience, Dostoevsky and Orwell are far better writers and had a deeper insight into the dangers of authoritarianism than Rand articulated via her literature.
So long as we’re making appeals to authority, I’ve heard NO ONE claim Rand was a great writer. The people who like her works like them because they agree with her politics, not because she was a skilled fictional writer — apparently other than the highly intelligent and highly educated friends of yours.
