Have you ever been to Alabama? It's not a hotbed of industry. This is far


more to do with the $ of boosters and the brand power of the program than location.

The big-time programs will have an advantage WRT NIL deals, regardless of location. Sure, being in a bigger market could help (USC-w, for example), but it's really more about which boosters are willing to throw money at athletes in exchange for "promotions" and things of the sort. I mean, look at the MMA dude in Miami who at one point promised to put all Canes on the payroll (essentially) for promoting his gym. Any VT boosters doing that? No.

Until the Shelor Motor Mile starts shelling out the cash to have Hokies appear in their commercials - or boosters in other areas start stepping in - we'll have fewer deals available. Very little of it has to do with location.
