Back in September and is mostly in response to why the Big-12 did not include South Florida in chapter1 expansion and pushed South Florida back to chapter 2. The hope is that they can actually play in the 2025 season and the expectation in the Big-12 is that South Florida, along with Memphis, SMU and Boise State will be invited by early to mid 2022 for a Big-12 membership date of July 1, 2024

Memphis has a similar problem after being pushed into chapter 2, they arranged funding and planning to renovate the Liberty Bowl. Likewise, Boise State is moving ahead with an expansion of Albertson stadium to 48,000 and an overhaul of their facilities. SMU, while possessing a new stadium is also looking at adding another 9,000 seats to be ready for Big-12 play in 2024.
