Because face it, any shot at getting them into the ACC will require catering to their scheduling whims. Here, they get historical rivals BC and Miami in their pod, and their permanent rivals from other pods would be Pitt, UNC, and GT, all of which can lay claim to some sort of traditional rivalry with ND (which we can’t).
