Sounds like the jokes is the joke, eg, he can tell his buddies that


he pulled that one on an unsuspecting homeowner.

Read an article on Margaret Mead, famous anthropologist who studied people in Oceana, and learned in some cases that the inhabitants engaged in free love and this lead to social theories being prorogated in the US etc.

Read an article where someone went back and interviewed those same woman years later and they said they were having fun making up stuff to pull her leg. Gotta watch people all the time to make sure they're not full of it. I think you're correct, sounds like your plumber is a joker.
