Probably because he is or comes across as arrogant, isolationist, with little self awareness. He’s not a horrible coach but a mediocre one who if remotely challenged would come across as if being questioned is pure stupid. He has little personality and blew it during Covid. While medical folks, military, first responders and others risked their lives with an unknown while a football coach making 4 million whines about how hard it was and getting a q tip up your nose was so challenging. He is not a leader of men. Leaders don’t cry about circumstances they adapt, overcome with a can do attitude. I believe him to be a good family man and obviously good with some players. I also think he will learn and improve from this stop. Maybe this is why some folks have the opinion of him they do.
