Serious question - 'Angel Donors'

Read a comment from CC down below about how the donors really dictate what program we have. I get it, and agree.

BUT....how much can us 'Mom and Pop' donors move the needle? Yes grassroots campaigns like Drive for 25 can help, but don't we really need to recruit, academically, the next Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos? We ARE a tech school...and it's a TECH dominated world....

Unconventionally, can't we get some sort of entrepreneurship / scholarship thingee working where we build institutional value of academics THROUGH athletics? I guess it's the same challenge everywhere and I am naive. There are only a few major donors to go around. IDK...just spitballing...I admit I don't understand the landscape in detail...but dang...are we doing enough to draw back former players and successful people to the school itself, which elevates visability for other donors?
