Here are more recent MLB scandals

1980s Pete Rose Betting Scandal
1985 Pittsburgh Pirates Cocaine Scandal
2005-06 Steroids Scandal
2013 Biogenesis Scandal

Even though I don't condone with what UNC did, I have forgiven UNC and moved on. Since nothing can be done to change the past, I see no point continuing to hold a grudge against UNC or any other school involved in a scandal during my lifetime. Life is too short anyways to keep holding onto the past. If I am going to hold a grudge against someone, then it will be for something I view as being more important. At this point in my life, I don't consider athletic scandals to be at or near the top of the list.

Plus, just because a person is a fan of a particular team, it doesn't automatically mean that person agrees with or supports the team's decision to do something illegal. If any of the VT teams were accused of something illegal and found guilty, like the football team was prior to Coach Beamer's arrival, then you can bet I would still be a Hokie fan even though I don't condone what VT is accused of doing and support VT being punished for its crime(s).
