My biggest issue with Herman is that he was utterly mediocre in a situation

in which he had every resource imaginable. If you can't win in a weak conference with the Texas resources, why would you be any better at VT?

I'd rather take a chance on a hot shot coordinator at a P5 or on a guy who has had success as a head coach at the G5 than go with a retread who has already proven to be mediocre when he had every conceivable resource needed to succeed.
